Brandi is smart and outgoing, but sometimes insecure and gullible.  Marisa is graceful and articulate, but often too driven.  Shane is a natural leader with a lot of spirit, but rebellious and headstrong.  Port City High is the big leagues to these three incoming freshmen, but they still plan on making their mark.  The problem is keeping their friendship intact while doing so.  Will Shane, Marisa, and Brandi be able to stand the pressures that high school brings, or will it swallow them whole?

Nominated for the prestigious ALA (American Library Association) Teens Top Ten Award, High School High, is already making its mark on young readers.  High School High leaves readers wanting more, and luckily with seven more books in the works, they are sure to be satisfied.

High School High is the debut novel for young adult author Shannon Freeman.  Here, we meet our three main characters:  Shane, Marisa, and Brandi and follow their lives as they grow, love, and learn about themselves through their own challenges and each others.

At that time, Freeman returned to the classroom, but entertaining others was still a desire that could not be quenched. Being in the classroom again inspired Freeman to tell the story of Marisa, Shane and Brandi that had been evolving for almost a decade.  Freeman began to write and the Port City High series was born.

Born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas, Shannon Freeman works full time as an English teacher in her hometown.  After completing college at Oral Roberts University, Freeman began her work in the classroom teaching English and Oral Communications.  At that time, the characters of her break out series Port City High began to form, but these characters lives would not be put into story form for years to come.  Before she could begin writing, tragedy struck the young teacher in the form of an apartment fire that took virtually all of her worldly possessions.  With nothing to lose, Freeman packed up a rented U-Haul with the few things she could salvage and headed to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a passion that burned within her since her youth, the entertainment industry.

Beginning in 2001, Freeman made numerous television appearances and enjoyed a rich life full of friends and hard work.  In 2008, her world once again changed when she and her husband Derrick Freeman found out that they were expecting their first child together.  Freeman then made the hard decision to return to Port Arthur and start the family that she had always wanted.
